The Degree of Academic Leaders Practice of Strategic Leadership in Jordanian Universities

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of academic leaders' practice of strategic leadership in Jordanian universities, and the study adopted the descriptive survey method, and the researcher prepared a questionnaire to measure the degree of strategic leadership practice, the study sample consisted of (400) faculty members who were selected by relative random method, with a percentage of (11%), and the results of the study showed that the degree of academic leaders' practice of strategic leadership in Jordanian universities as a whole came to a (great) degree; According to the following order: the field of strategy implementation is in the first place, followed  by the field of strategy design in the second place, followed by the field of strategy monitoring and evaluation in the third place, followed by the field of strategic environment in the fourth place, and the results showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of statistical significance (α = 0.05) between the responses of the study sample members about The degree to which academic leaders practice strategic leadership in Jordanian universities from the faculty members' point of view is attributed to variables (gender, academic qualification, years of experience, and type of university), because universities, regardless of these variables, seek to practice strategic leadership as a fixed approach that ensures continuity and adaptability. These educational institutions approach challenges and opportunities in a similar way, reflecting the nature of the social and educational environment to which academic leaders belong.The study recommended working to strengthen the management of universities, continuing to apply strategic leadership in order to achieve educational goals, enhancing the role of the university administration with its interest in strategic leadership, and enhancing the requirements of applying a safe psychological environment for its employees, especially under the current circumstances, and working to spread the culture of strategic leadership among university employees in order to achieve sustainable development
